How Remission Medical Sees Patients

Take a look at this July 26, 2022 article in Healio titled “Telehealth in rheumatology: From ‘boutique industry’ to ‘unavoidable reality’”

Here’s the best clip from the article:

“Before COVID, telemedicine was a boutique industry in rheumatology,” Daniel Albert, MD, vice chair of faculty and academic affairs in the department of medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, told Healio Rheumatology. “That changed 180 degrees with the pandemic.”

Remission Medical sees patients exclusively via video visits. Here are the top five things to know about how we work with patients who already have diagnosed rheumatologic disease, or believe they might and hope to find out quickly and accurately:

  1. No smartphone app to download; you can use the web on your computer or laptop, or mobile web on your phone.
  2. You can book typically a same- day appointment with one of our Rheumatologist or NPs. We’re all about very rapid time to diagnosis; we always aim to get patients in right away to see our providers.
  3. We’ll ask you to fill otr a short form electronically that we’ll send you via email or text – it’s swift and easy, and helps our rheumatology team to come up to full speed on your case with haste.
  4. You’ll get appointment reminders from us via text or email, and our providers are always open to any questions you might have during the virtual appointment.
  5. As merited, we’ll order labs and/or imaging for you, where we’ll keep you close to where you live or work to have your blood drawn, or for an MRI or the like, and we’ll always make sure you understand why these tests are needed, and what (if any) co-insurance cost you may have.
